Category: Politics & The Law20 Questions for the Media
1. If the Democrats say a bill is X, and the Republicans say a bill is Y, and the media simply presents those two sides of the story, how will the average person know whether the bill is really X, Y, or Z?
2. Why do you let people like Rush Limbuagh and Bill O'Reilly publish books with no footnotes, endnotes, or other citations of authority for the "facts" which they advance to support their opinions? 3. Do we really need a re-make of The Bad News Bears? 4. Has there ever been an informative, enlightening, or entertaining Morning News Show interview with the hero or victim of some overnight miracle or tragedy? 5. When a bad movie gets made, what did the first draft of the script look like? 6. Isn't Katie Couric doing essentially the same job as the local morning anchorwoman who makes $30,000 a year? 7. If you take a book, any book, give it a catchy title, slap a good cover on it, put it in every airport window, and on every Barnes & Noble display, will it become a bestseller? 8. Does George Bush really talk like one of your fraternity brothers? 9. Isn't the news on the Howard Stern Show a lot funnier, better, and generally more interesting than his interviewing of strippers or celebrities? 10. Do you really think people remember who broke the story? 11. Isn't news always "news" the first time you hear it? 12. Why do you put the Trademark sign next to the names of products in news articles or novels? 13. Conan O'Brien? 14. How did you allow the Bush Campaign to turn the story into a story about Dan Rather, rather than a story about what Bush was doing when he was supposed to be defending our country in the National Guard? 15. Why is there not more outrage from the press concerning its limited access to the events in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere in the Middle East? 16. Why is there not more reporting on the Republican Party’s screening, arresting or other purging of protesters, dissenters, or other potential non-supporters from speeches, rallies and conventions? 17. Why isn't there constant investigation of Vice-President Dick Cheney's involvement in pre-and post-election Halliburton scandals (particularly when you consider the attention given to Whitewater and Paula Jones during the Clinton Administration)? 18. How can you call yourselves "liberal"? 19. Doesn't everybody know about Mississippi? Goddamn! 20. If the Democrats and their pundits say a bill will result in X, and the Republicans and their pundits say a bill will result in Y, and the media simply presents those two sides of the story, how will the average person know whether the bill will really result in X, Y, or Z? Defend Rove, But Not the "Liberal" Media Protecting Him?
This question is for the members of the media who didn’t come to the defense of Judith Miller and Time, and/or who now come to the defense of Carl Rove:
Why was finding out who outed Valerie Plame so important that reporters needed to go to jail, but not so important that Rove should be prosecuted for it?

Electric Scooter
Electric scooters are allowed on public transit (bus/train/plane) whereas gas-powered scooters are prohibited. Noise and air pollution of gas-powered scooters is eliminated.

Supporting the War, or Simply Republicans?
Is there any doubt that the pundits who support the War in Iraq would be against it if a Democrat had been in the White House when it began?
